Hi,
Anyone know whether I can buy a cheap mini CCTV camera / Webcam, that doesn't require wiring to anything for it to operate and store data i.e. can be charged and configured from PC e.g. via USB and can be simply left standalone e.g. on window sill to record data and store on-board. Data can then be downloaded to a PC at a later date. Would be interested in knowing what's out there!

Sounds like you're after an IP Webcam, which is a security camera connected to the internet by wifi. You can configure these cameras remotely, and view the output remotely. There are many to choose from, but several include IR motion detection sensors.

OK, great news - you can now buy an IP webcam from our store http://www.mindyourstreet.com/store.html. Just go to the CCTV section and you'll see a range to choose from.
